we are in the process of updating some of the subframe kits for easier installation, the stage 1 will still be a weld on application

Subframe Connectors Installation Instructions:

Stage 1 is a "weld on" application

Stage 2 "X" Bracing is a "bolt on" application

Stage 3 is a "bolt on" application

The Stage 1 and 2 requires that the car be placed on a 4 post lift or ramps to prevent adding camber to the car. The sfc’s need to be installed so the suspension is as it is sitting normally on the tires, a 2 post lift will not work as it will change the camber of the body and your doors may no longer close after installation.

The Stage 1 kit consists of:

2 SECTIONS OF STRUCTURAL STEEL ROUND TUBING WHICH FOLLOW CONTOUR OF CAR BOTTOM, MOUNTING TABS ARE PRE-ATTACHED - HOLES ARE SLOTTED FOR EASIER INSTALLATION

Stage 2 X bracing Kit consists of:

ALL STAINLESS STEEL COMPONENTS, 5 TUBING SECTIONS WITH MOUNTING TABS AND GRADE 8 BOLTS

Stage 3 bracing Kit consists of:

ALL STAINLESS STEEL COMPONENTS, 2 TUBING SECTIONS WITH MOUNTING TABS AND GRADE 8 BOLTS

You will need the following to install the Stage 1:

A 4 post lift or ramps

A wire welder (if you have never welded out of position overhead let someone else do it)

A good sharp scraper or wire wheel to remove undercoating

A magic marker to mark the positioning of the mounting pads

A water spray bottle or water hose

A helper to hold the sfc’s in position (one at a time of course)

3M undercoating spray or paint and primer

Can of brake parts cleaner (works real well to remove grease or oil if you are painting)

Safety glasses

WE HAVE CHANGED THE STAGE TWO BUT THIS SHOULD GIVE AN IDEA UNTIL WE GET THIS PAGE UPDATED FURTHER

INSTALLATION STAGE 1

 WE INSTALL THEM AS FOLLOWS:

#1. POSITION CAR ON FOUR POST LIFT.

#2. HOLD UP SFC STAGE ONE IN PLACE AND MARK MOUNTING TAB POSITION WITH MARKER, LINE UP THE FRONT TWO TABS WITH SLIP JOINTS IN FLOOR.

REMOVE UNDERCOATING UNDER AND AT LEAST 1/2" PAST THE TABS TO PREVENT A FIRE WHEN WELDING. THE END WHICH MOUNTS BY JACKING POINT SHOULD HAVE PAINT ROUGHED UP OR GROUND OFF.

#.3 HOLD SFC'S IN PLACE WITH JACK STANDS, BEST TO HAVE HELP. TACK WELD A COUPLE OF TABS TO THE FRAME RAILS AND TACK ENDS NEAR JACKING POINT.

#4. WELD ABOUT 1/2" AT A TIME, TRY TO MAKE THE WELD PUDDLE UP FROM THICKER TAB TO THIN FLOOR/FRAME RAIL METAL. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A WATER SPRAY BOTTLE AT HAND.

MOVE FROM TAB TO TAB UNTIL BOTH SIDES OF MOUNTING TABS ARE WELDED AND THE END NEAR JACKING POINT IS SEALED AS BEST YOU CAN.

#5. USE SOME 3M UNDERCOATING TO SPRAY THE SFC 'S, IT IS ABOUT $5 PER CAN AND WILL TAKE ONE CAN. AT THE END OF TUBE NEAR JACKING POINT USE A LITTLE CAULK TO SEAL WHAT YOU COULD NOT WELD.

#6. ONCE THE STAGE 1 KITS HAS BEEN WELDED IN PLACE USE SOME CONSTRUCTION FOAM TO FILL THE 2 TUBING ENDS, WHEN DRY SIMPLY TRIM OFF AND SPRAY WITH UNDERCOATING.

GET THE FOAM FROM LOWES OR HOME DEPOT ($4.00 PER CAN, EVEN CHEAPER AT WAL-MART)

WE USUALLY TAKE ABOUT 1 HOUR TO INSTALL A SET

Stage 2 X bracing Kit consists of:

1997-2000 Federal Emissions Maxima's must have "s" section replaced due to clearance issues, yes we have them available. We have also found some in California with them as well so always look first.

Tools required for installation: A 14MM WRENCH, SOCKET AND RATCHET

Stage 2 X Bracing Application: OUR STAGE TWO EASILY APPLIES BECAUSE ALL OF OUR MOUNTING TABS ON THE STAGE ONES HAVE SLOTTED HOLES SHOULD YOU NEED TO ADJUST IT. SIMPLY PUT THE BOLTS IN THE HOLES AND LINE UP WITH TABS, APPLY AND TIGHTEN NUTS, TRY TO KEEP THEM NUTS DOWN.

Stage 3 Bracing

Stage 3 bracing Kit consists of: 2 SECTIONS OF STAINLESS STEEL STRUCTURAL TUBING WITH MOUNTING TABS AND BOLTS/NUTS

Installation of Stage 3 after stage 2 install: SIMPLY LINE UP THE HOLES AND APPLY BOLTS AND NUTS
